Nick Cannon’s 12 Kids: Meet All His Children and Their Mothers

Last Updated on March 17, 2026 by Bella

Nick Cannon is known for many things. He is a television host, comedian, producer, and entrepreneur. But the role he often says brings him the most joy is being a father. Over the years, Cannon has built a large and unique family. Since 2011, he has welcomed 12 children with several partners.

Despite his busy career, Cannon frequently talks about how much fatherhood means to him. In interviews and social media posts, he often shares moments with his children and reflects on the lessons they teach him.

“Every day I just wake up excited as a father,” he told PEOPLE in May 2022. “I’m so excited about all my kids. Constantly, from every aspect of it. From them getting citizen of the month awards in the first grade to the birth of the new ones.”

Here is a closer look at Nick Cannon’s 12 children and the stories behind his growing family.

Moroccan and Monroe Cannon

Nick Cannon first became a father in April 2011 when he welcomed twins with singer Mariah Carey. Their son, Moroccan Scott Cannon, and daughter Monroe Cannon were born in Los Angeles on April 30, 2011.

Although Cannon and Carey separated in 2014 after six years of marriage, they have continued to co-parent their children. The former couple often comes together for family holidays, public appearances, and special moments in their kids’ lives.

Cannon once shared that parenting decisions do not always go smoothly between the two. On his talk show, he admitted he secretly gave the twins cell phones for their tenth birthday, even though Carey was not on board.

“I was all for it, but Mariah was like, ‘Uh huh, they aren’t going to be Googling us, learning about all their new brothers and sisters, no, we aren’t playing,’ ” he said. “Mariah is still mad at me [for doing it anyway] to this day.”

Monroe has already stepped into the spotlight herself. In 2021, she appeared in a back-to-school campaign for OshKosh B’Gosh, where she portrayed a younger version of her mother.

Cannon has also credited Monroe with helping him emotionally during difficult times, especially after the loss of his son Zen.

“My daughter, really, she’s so in tune and in line and wise beyond her years,” he shared. “She’s probably my best therapist.”

Golden Sagon Cannon

Cannon welcomed his third child, Golden Sagon Cannon, on February 21, 2017, with model Brittany Bell.

Golden has already shown signs of being academically gifted. According to Bell, he skipped a grade and has strong emotional intelligence along with his academic abilities. She shared proudly on social media that he even ran for and was elected class representative at school.

Golden has big dreams for the future. As a young child, he said he hoped to become a scientist one day.

Cannon often posts fun father-son moments with Golden, including videos of the two boxing together and celebrating birthdays with themed parties.

Powerful Queen Cannon

Golden’s younger sister, Powerful Queen Cannon, arrived on December 23, 2020. She was born at home through a natural water birth.

Bell later reflected on the experience and praised Cannon for supporting her through the process.

“All I can say is that Nick was my rock through the most intense yet empowering natural water birth,” she wrote online. “It was nothing but POWERFUL.”

Powerful Queen is often called “Pow” by her family. She frequently appears in family photos alongside her parents and siblings during holidays and school milestones.

Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir Cannon

In June 2021, Cannon welcomed twin boys with DJ and model Abby De La Rosa. Zion Mixolydian Cannon and Zillion Heir Cannon were born on June 14, 2021.

The twins quickly became fan favorites on social media. Their parents have shared sweet moments from their early years, including their first Halloween costumes and their birthday celebration at Disneyland.

In April 2024, Cannon and De La Rosa revealed that Zillion had been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. They spoke openly about the experience and expressed pride in their son.

“Our beautiful boy experiences life in 4D and teaches us something new every day,” they wrote. “His love, strength, and brilliance light up every room he enters.”

Zen Cannon

Just days after Zion and Zillion were born, Cannon welcomed another son. Zen Cannon was born on June 23, 2021, with model Alyssa Scott.

In August 2021, Zen was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive brain cancer called high-grade glioma. Sadly, he passed away in December 2021 at only five months old.

Cannon has spoken openly about the heartbreak of losing his son.

“We had a short time with a true angel,” he said. “My heart is shattered.”

The experience deeply affected Cannon and his family. To honor Zen’s memory, his parents launched Zen’s Light, a foundation focused on hope, grief support, and pediatric health care.

Legendary Love Cannon

Cannon’s next child arrived in July 2022. Legendary Love Cannon was born to model Bre Tiesi through a natural home birth.

Tiesi later shared how meaningful the experience was for her.“I did it. An all-natural, unmedicated home birth,” she wrote. “This was the most humbling yet awakening experience.”

Legendary’s first birthday was celebrated with a hip-hop-themed party inspired by his name. The event featured music, decorations, and plenty of family fun.

Cannon has said that he spends a lot of time with Onyx and often takes her with him to work or special outings like trips to Disneyland.

Rise Messiah Cannon

Later in 2022, Cannon and Brittany Bell welcomed their third child together. Rise, Messiah Cannon was born in September.

Cannon celebrated the arrival on social media while reflecting on his growing family.

“Another Blessing!!! As my journey on this planet becomes more and more remarkable and unfathomable, all I can do is thank God,” he wrote.

De La Rosa shared an emotional message when announcing the birth.

“Not one single word can express the love we have for you,” she wrote. “Your brothers can’t wait to meet you.”

Halo Marie Cannon

Cannon’s twelfth child, Halo Marie Cannon, was born on December 14, 2022, to Alyssa Scott. Her arrival came almost exactly one year after the passing of their son Zen.

Scott described the moment as deeply emotional.

“December 14, 2022. Our lives are forever changed,” she wrote. “Zen is in every breath I take.”

Nick Cannon on Being a Father of 12

While Cannon clearly loves being a dad, he has also been honest about the challenges that come with raising such a large family.

“Being a father of multiple kids, it’s always the biggest guilt on me is that I don’t get to spend enough time with all my children,” he admitted on The Checkup with Dr. Agus.

Still, Cannon says fatherhood remains the most rewarding part of his life. Although people often ask if he plans to have more children, he recently suggested he is content with the family he already has.

“I’m chilling right now. There’s no plans on the horizon as of yet,” he told PEOPLE in 2024. “It’s so funny, everybody’s always trying to get me to have more kids. It’s like, 12 ain’t enough?”

For now, Cannon continues balancing his career while celebrating life as the father of one of Hollywood’s biggest families.
